Email setup on iOS device

Follow the instructions below to configure your Bishop’s mail on your iOS device. You’ll find screenshots and instructions that may be helpful, but if you have any questions or problems don’t hesitate to contact the ITS Helpdesk in person on the first floor of the Library Learning Commons, by opening an Octopus ticket, or by phone at x2273.

If you would prefer to use the Outlook app to access your email, please follow our tutorial for the setup here.

Step 1:

Once you are connected to Wi-Fi go to your home screen and tap the Settings app.

Step 2:

Scroll down, and tap Mail.

Step 3:

Tap on Accounts

Step 4:

Tap Add Account

Step 5:

Tap Microsoft Exchange

Step 6:

Enter your Bishop’s Email address and Password using the on-screen keyboard (which will pop up as soon as you tap in one of the fields), and then tap Next. Note that the Description is simply the label that will appear next to your email account – you can make this anything you like.

Step 7:

Tap Sign In

Step 8:

Enter your Bishop’s password and tap Done, then tap the blue Sign In button.

Step 9:

You may get prompted for multi-factor authentication if you are not on campus connected to WIZABU. If you get prompted, approve the sign in.

Step 10:

Select what data you want to synchronize to your device and tap Save

Step 11:

You’re done!

Note: It may take a moment for your phone to load all the data, after which you can access your mail, calendar, or contacts by tapping the appropriate icon on your home screen. If your Mail app does not retrieve any mail after several minutes, or gives an error about connecting, close the app and reopen it (to do this, double-click the home button to bring up a list of running applications, then hold your finger on one of them until they start to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the top corner of an app to close it. Then click the home button again to return to normal mode, and tap to open the app as you usually would).
