Video conferencing offers the closest experience to an in-classroom lecture. While it is strongly recommended that as much class instruction be delivered in an asynchronous manner, sometimes there simply is no substitute for a classroom-like real-time interaction. To fill this need, our campus offers the BlueJeans video conferencing platform. While video conferencing in its present state will never be able to fully replicate a classroom environment, it is nevertheless a powerful way of connecting with your students and delivering lecture style content.
If you’ve never used BlueJeans before, the following video will outline the basic features and how to use them, as well as some best practices when running a video conference with a large number of participants.
Bluejeans has considerable documentation online about how to use the service, and you can find that documentation here: https://support.bluejeans.com/s/topic/0TO2R000000kaiYWAQ/participating
