Follow the instructions below to configure your Bishop’s mail on your iOS device. You’ll find screenshots just below the instructions that may be helpful, but if you have any questions or problems don’t hesitate to contact the ITS Helpdesk in person in Johnson 107, by email at firstname.lastname@example.org, or by phone at x2273.
Enter your Bishop’s Email address and Password using the on-screen keyboard (which will pop up as soon as you tap in one of the fields), and then tap Next. Note that the Description is simply the label that will appear next to your email account – you can make this anything you like.
Enter the further information requested as shown in the screenshots below, then tap Next (Server is “webmail.ubishops.ca”, Domain is “bishops”, and your username and password are the ones you use to log in to webmail, myBU, Moodle, etc.)
You will almost certainly want to leave the options shown all ON , but if for some reason you don’t want to connect one of them, simply tap or swipe the ON slider to change it to OFF then tap Save to finish.
Return to “Mail, Contacts, Calendars” in the settings menu. Here you can set the Default account for your email and contacts. If you want all new contacts that you add to sync to iCloud be sure to set your iCloud account as the default.
Note: It may take a moment for your phone to load all the data, after which you can access your mail, calendar, or contacts by tapping the appropriate icon on your home screen. If your Mail app does not retrieve any mail after several minutes, or gives an error about connecting, close the app and reopen it (to do this, double-click the home button to bring up a list of running applications, then hold your finger on one of them until they start to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the top corner of an app to close it. Then click the home button again to return to normal mode, and tap to open the app as you usually would).
