Multimedia Classrooms - Laptop

This tutorial is for those who are using a multimedia classroom but are looking to connect their own laptop to the projector rather than the desktop.

Step 1:

You will need to turn your laptop on and log in as per usual.

Step 2:

You will need to plug in the required cable into your laptop.

There are all sorts of laptops out there and depending on the one you have, some will need the VGA/ Audio Cable, and others an HDMI cable. You will know if this is the one you need by verifying the ports on your laptop.
For example: The laptop shown will need a VGA cable.

It is important to note that if you require the VGA cable and are looking to have sound with your presentation that you plug in the audio cable that is attached to the VGA wire.

If your laptop requires the HDMI cable, then you won’t have to worry as this wire will provide both audio and visual for your presentation.

Step 3:

Press “begin” on the Crestron system.

Step 4:

Choose the “laptop” option

This will allow your laptop to connect to the Crestron in order to display your presentation.

Step 5:

Begin your presentation!

Your laptop has been connected and is displaying on the projector. You may now begin your lecture for all to enjoy!
