Recording a meeting in Microsoft Teams is easy. Once you have that recording, you can download it from the Microsoft Stream cloud server, and either put it directly into Moodle (less desirable option) or upload it to Ensemble (way better option).
(Putting the video on Moodle directly is possible, but the “mp4” file format that you obtain from Microsoft Stream may not work in all browsers, so by uploading the file to Ensemble you guarantee something more compatible for all students.)
See the video below for how to:
- Record any meeting in Teams
- Download the recording from Microsoft Stream
- Upload the recording to Ensemble (to then place in Moodle)
Stretch Goal – Captioning your Recording in Ensemble!
Microsoft Stream automatically captions your meeting recordings and you can take this caption file and put it onto Ensemble as well which can help *all* students (not only those who have auditory accommodation needs) to get the full content of what was said.
Note that this captioning is automatic, and is done by AI systems and so is not perfect, but is generally very adequate. Microsoft will also be augmenting the captioning system in the Fall to also do “speaker attribution” so captions will be tracked by speaker making it even easier to understand.
See the video below for how to download the caption file from Microsoft Stream and upload it to Ensemble:
