Remote Support with TeamViewer

If you require IT support while working from home, ITS will contact you over the phone and assist you through TeamViewer. To receive support through TeamViewer, you will be required to download and run the QuickSupport application. This support page will guide you through the steps to install the QuickSupport application on different devices.

Select the device you require assistance on:

Mac
Windows
iOS
Android


Installing the QuickSupport application on Mac:

Step 1:

Download the QuickSupport application here.


Step 2:

Select your preferred option and click "OK".


Step 3:

Once the download completed, open the TeamViewer QuickSupport app.


Step 4:

If prompted, select "open" to allow the application to be opened.


Step 5:

If you are running version 10.15 or higher, you can set the settings that best suit your needs.


Step 6:

You will see your ID and Password in the TeamViewer QuickSupport window. This information will be required to connect remotely to your device.



Installing the QuickSupport application on Windows:

Step 1:

Download the QuickSupport application here.


Step 2:

Select "Save file".


Step 3:

Once the download completed, open the TeamViewer QuickSupport app.


Step 4:

If prompted, select "Yes" to allow the application to be opened.

Step 5:

You will see your ID and Password in the TeamViewer QuickSupport window. This information will be required to connect remotely to your device.


Step 6:

Your remote connection is now live.

A TeamViewer popup will appear in the corner of your screen.



Installing the QuickSupport application on iOS:

Step 1:

If your iOS device is managed by Bishop's, you will find the QuickSupport app installed on your homepage. Otherwise, you can download the app here.


Step 2:

If prompted, select an option according to your preference.


Step 3:

You will see your ID in the TeamViewer QuickSupport window. This information will be required to connect remotely to your device.


Step 4:

Once ITS enters your ID, you will be prompted to "Allow" the remote connection.


Step 5:

Once remotely connected, click on "Start Broadcast" to provide a live feed of your device to ITS.


Step 6:

Important: Note that your screen broadcast is a live feed of your device. It is preferable that you enable "Do Not Disturb" prior to starting a broadcast with ITS. Otherwise, everything on your screen, including notifications will be visible during the broadcast.

Click "Start Broadcast" when you are ready to begin.


Step 7:

You are now broadcasting. ITS will guide you through the troubleshooting steps over the phone.

You can stop the broadcast at any point by clicking "Stop Broadcast".



Installing the QuickSupport application on Android:

Step 1:

Download the QuickSupport application here.


Step 2:

If prompted, select "Activate".

Note: Depending on your device, this message may display different information.


Step 3:

You will see your ID in the TeamViewer QuickSupport window. This information will be required to connect remotely to your device.


Step 4:

Important: Note that your screen broadcast is a live feed of your device. It is preferable that you enable "Do Not Disturb" prior to starting a broadcast with ITS. Otherwise, everything on your screen, including notifications will be visible during the broadcast.

Click "Start Now" when you are ready to begin.
