How to Electronically Sign Documents

You can sign documents electronically from your computer or from your mobile devices. No need to print out documents and scan them again with the instruction bellow you will be able to add your signature to PDFs easily.

1.Signing PDFs Electronically on Windows

Adobe Acrobat Reader is required for the signature feature bellow.

Step 1:

Open the PDF you wish to sign in Adobe Acrobat Reader and select the “Sign” icon located on the right of the icon bar.

NOTE:

If you do not see the “Sign” icon on the far right side of your taskbar, open the “Tools” tab and select “Fill & Sign”.

Step 2:

Select “Add Signature”.

Step #3:

Select your preferred method to sign your document.

Type: Type your signature.
Draw: Use an electronic pen or graphic tablet to sign.
Image: If you already have an electronic image of your signature.

Once satisfied with your signature, click “Apply”.

Step 4:

Your signature is now created! Once inserted, you can move and re-size it as you wish.

2.Signing PDFs Electronically on Mac

Note that you should never sign a PDF in a Safari/Firefox/Chrome window, but always download the PDF to your computer before signing it.  If you don’t download the PDF before signing, it is likely that your signature will not be properly saved.

Step 1:

Open the PDF you wish to sign in “Preview”.

Step 2:

Select the “Show Markup Toolbar” option.

Step 3:

Select the “Show Markup Toolbar” option.

Step 4:

Select the “Signature” icon.

Step 5:

You have to options to add a signature: using a track pad or using the camera, if both options are available to you select your preferred method.

From a track pad: Sign using the track pad
From the camera: Show a white paper containing your signature to the camera to capture it.

Once your are satisfied with your signature, click “Done”.

Step 6:

Your signature is now created! Click on it to insert it in your document.

Once inserted, you can move and re-size it as you wish.

Step 7:

Remember to save your now-signed PDF!  In preview, the fastest way to save your PDF is simply to press CMD-s or go to the “File” menu and select “Save”.

 

3.Signing PDFs Electronically on iOS

Step 1:

From the PDF you want to sign, click the “Mark up” icon.

Step 2:

Click on the (+) icon and select “Signature”.

Step 3:

Sign with your finger to create your new signature.

If you have an iPencil connected to your device, you can use it to create your signature.

Click “Done” when you are satisfied with your signature to insert it into your PDF.

Step 4:

Your signature is now created! Once inserted, you can move and re-size it as you wish.
