Submitting Video Assignments for Students

When your instructor asks you to complete a video assignment, you may be unsure of a way to submit it. It is usually not possible to submit a video assignment via Moodle given the limited file size that is accepted (500MBs). Fortunately, as a student you have access to other resources to submit your assignment and this tutorial will demonstrate the best methods to do so.

OneDrive

All BU students have access to the full Office365 suite. This includes access to their own personal OneDrive, a file storing service where they can upload and share files.

How to upload and share a video using OneDrive
Step 1:

Log on to Office.com and navigate to OneDrive from "all apps".

Step 2:

In OneDrive, click 'Upload' in the top left of the page and select 'Files.'

Step 3:

Select the video file you would like to upload. Then click "open"

Step 4:

Once your video has begun uploading you must give your professor permission to view it by sharing it with them. This is a critical step. If you send your instructor the link without adding them to the list of users who have permission to view the video they will not be able to see it.

To give an instructor permission, click the three dots next to your video file and select 'Share.' Next, type the name of your instructor in the box under "share with." Select their account and ensure it is added to the list of viewers below.

Alternatively, if you want to give everyone in your class access, you can add your class Team to the list of users that have access. Instead of of searching for "people" this time search for "groups" and type the name of your class Team in the box under "share with." Select the Teams site to add it to the permissions list.

Step 5:

Once you have entered the names of the individuals who will be granted access to your video, click 'Send.' This will send them an email, notifying them that they have been granted access to your file. Alternatively, you can also copy the shareable link and send it via email.
