What to do after a passcode reset?

A forgotten passcode can be removed from any BU managed device, if needed. Once a passcode is removed from a BU managed device, the device can be opened with a click on the home button. The user should, therefore, go through a few setup steps to assure the device stays secured and works properly after a passcode removal.

Touch ID

Once a passcode is removed from a BU managed device, the fingerprints associated to the device are removed as well. Users who have setup Touch ID on their BU managed device will need to go into the setting application and setup their fingerprints again.

For more information on how to setup Touch ID, refer to Use Touch ID on iPhone and iPad.

Face ID

Once a passcode is removed from a BU managed device, the face ID associated to the device is removed as well. Users who have setup Face ID on their BU managed device will need to power down their device before going into the settings to setup Face ID again.

For more information on how to setup Face ID, refer to Use Face ID on your iPhone or iPad Pro
