NOTE: You should always download a PDF you desire to fill to your computer before attempting to fill it out. If you start entering the data straight from your browser, the data you entered could be lost when it is downloaded or printed.
First, navigate to your desired PDF form. In this example I am using the “About You” PDF form found on our Bishop’s employee site. From here, download the PDF Note: The option to download the file may differ in each browser. If you are unsure how to download the file, contact the ITS Helpdesk.
Right click on the file and open it with Adobe Acrobat Reader. If you are using a personal computer, you can download Adobe Acrobat Reader for free here. You do not need the Pro version to fill out a form.
Once you have filled and signed the form (click here to learn how to electronically sign a document), the only thing left to do is to save the form. To do so, go in the top right and click on File > Save as. This will allow you to save in a folder of your choice. Make sure to save it somewhere you have access to. All you have left to do is upload, email, or send the document in!
Here is a short tutorial on how to set Adobe Acrobat as your default PDF viewer.
Save the file.
Locate your document, right click on the file and click on properties. Once in properties, click on “Change” by the “Open with” section.
A dialog should appear. Select Adobe Acrobat Reader in the list of available software.
After you click OK, “Open With:” should show Adobe Acrobat Reader, as shown.
First, navigate to your desired PDF form. In this example I am using the “About You” PDF form found on our Bishop’s employee site. From here, you will download the PDF by clicking on the “Download” button in the top left. This may be different for other browsers.
Use Finder to locate your document and open it. The default PDF viewer is “Preview.” If the PDF has not been opened using Preview, you can right click on it and select “Open With > Preview.”
Once the form is opened in Preview, you just need to click on an empty field and start typing!
All there is left to do is to export the PDF.
Go to File > Export as PDF and save it. Now you can upload or email the completed form!
